In a previous post, we laid out one possible monetization strategy for Cannon Battle. We are now rethinking that strategy.
The current plan is something more traditional:
Free Version:
- Two Commanders from each Race (six total)
- Two Vehicles from each Race (six total)
- All Game Types, Modes, and Maps
Paid Version adds:
- All Commanders
- All Vehicles
This is not 'free to play' nor 'pay to win' - it is simply 'a game with a generous demo.'
We are also looking at replacing the old DLC scheme with a new Collectible Mode:
Collectible Mode is the place to play with outrageous new DLC Special Weapons and potentially unbalanced loadouts. This mode would be available with all game types.
Collectible Mode is under assessment, and is not a given at this point.
Tournament Mode uses only Standard Weapons for finely balanced competition.
Tournament Mode is the heart of the game, and getting this mode right will take priority over any DLC scheme.
We're still working this out, but this is a pretty good look at where we are going with this aspect of design.
